What is a plastic recycling machine?

A plastic recycling machine is a device that is used to disintegrator or shred used or waste plastic products and make them into useful pieces such as flakes, pellets or granules which are then used to make new plastic products. Such machines therefore help in the conservation of the environment through the recycling of plastic which otherwise would end up in landfills or the oceans.

Plastic Recycling Machine Operation Principle

1. Shredding or Crushing
   Many recycling systems start by breaking large plastic items (e.g., bottles, containers) into smaller pieces using shredders or crushers.
2. Washing and Drying
   After shredding, the plastic can be washed to efface the labels, adhesives or any other contaminants such as food particles. The following steps of cleaning ensure that there are no contaminants in the recycled plastic.

   After cleaning the plastic flakes they are then fed into an extruder where they are melted and then pushed through a die to form long strands or any desired shape. These strands are then cooled down and chopped into small particles or pellets.
